Abstract
A series of novel mixed-ligand cyanonitrosyl complexes on Mn(I) have b een synthesized by the reaction of pentacyanonitrosylmanganate (I) ani on ([Mn(NO)(CN)(5)](3-)) with 2- or 3-pyrazoline -5-one derivatives. T he products which have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, therm ogravimetric analysis, electronic and IR spectral studies, have the ge neral formula [Mn(NO)(CN)(2)(L)(2)(H2O)] (where L = 2- or 3-pyrazoline -5-one derivatives). Octahedral configuration with low-spin {Mn(NO)}( 6) species has been suggested for these complexes.
