M. Mascalchi et al., TRANSIENT REGRESSION OF AN INTRACRANIAL GERM-CELL TUMOR AFTER INTRAVENOUS STEROID-ADMINISTRATION - A CASE-REPORT, Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry, 64(5), 1998, pp. 670-672
Magnetic resonance imaging showed transient regression of the lesion a
fter intravenous steroid administration in a patient with intracranial
multifocal germ cell tumour. Prominent lymphocyte infiltration of the
tumour was seen at histological examination and presumably accounts f
or the regression. Germ cell tumour must be included in the differenti
al diagnosis of intracranial mass lesions sensitive to steroids.
