Abstract
A facile procedure for the preparation of secondary and tertiary amine s from nitriles has been developed. The addition of amines to diisobut ylaluminum-imine complexes derived by treating nitriles with DIBAL-H w as found to proceed in moderate to good yields and was used to prepare NPS R-568 (1) hydrochloride, a potent calcium receptor agonist.
