Y. Ebata et al., CHEMICAL-COMPOSITION OF THE GLUE FROM APPRESSORIA OF MAGNAPORTHE-GRISEA, Bioscience, biotechnology, and biochemistry, 62(4), 1998, pp. 672-674
The chemical composition of the glue substance that attaches the appre
ssoria of Magnaporthe grisea bar artificial leaf wax was investigated.
As a percentage of fresh weights, the glue Nas crude lipids 29.0%, pr
oteins 12.2%, sugars 7.6%, mater 26.5% and other substances 24.7%. The
major fatty acid components of the crude Lipids mere hexadecanoic and
octadecanoic acids. Unsaturated fatty acids and branched fatty acids
mere also detected as minor components. The protein was abundant in gl
ycine, glutamic acid, and serine. Glucose, xylose, and mannose mere th
e major monosaccharides.
