Treating palladium acetate with secondary benzylamines C6H5CH2NHMe (1)
, C6H5CH2NHBun (2), 4-OCH3C6H4CH2NHBun (3), 3,4-(OMe)(2)C6H3CH2NHBun (
4) and 2,4-(OMe)(2)C6H3CH2NHBun (5) in benzene gave acetato-bridged cy
clopalladated complexes 1a-5a. Metathesis reaction of these acetato-br
idged cyclopalladated complexes (1a-5a) with LiCl in methanol gave chl
oro-bridged cyclopalladated complexes (1a-5b). The reactions of these
chloro-bridged complexes were investigated with various ligands such a
s triphenylphosphine, acetylacetone, 1,1,2,2-tetraacetylethane, 1-phen
ylazo-2-naphthol and 2-hydroxy-3 -t-butyl-5-methylbenzylidene-p-chloro
aniline. The resulting complexes were analyzed by means of IR, H-1 NMR
, C-13 NMR and H-1-H-1 COSY NMR spectroscopic techniques. (C) 1997 Els
