Abstract
Ruthenium metal colloid was produced by the reduction of RuCl3, in eth ylene glycol. The metal particles observed by TEM had uniform shape an d size, less than 5 nm in diameter The particles agglomerated easily a t pH higher than 3. When the pH value of the solution was decreased to 2, the colloidal particles were dispersed well due to the increase of the surface charge.
