Abstract
A vertex-localization algorithm for the neutrino-interaction in nuclea r emulsion is described. Emulsion is used as a detector-target in the hybrid SCAP spectrometer with a streamer chamber (SC) as a track detec tor. As has been shown, with the SC it is possible to measure momenta with an accuracy sigma(p)/p congruent to 7% and track slopes in the ho rizontal and vertical SC planes with the accuracies sigma(phi) congrue nt to 17 mrad and sigma(lambda) congruent to 20 mrad, respectively. Un der these conditions, the algorithm under consideration provides the v ertex localization with an accuracy sigma(y) = 700 mu m, sigma(z)= 120 0 mu m, and sigma(x) = 1700 mu m. This accuracy is sufficient for the efficient search for the vertex in the emulsion layers. The procedure of searching for the vertex is described.
