Abstract
A method for measuring inhomogeneity of the pulsed magnetic field in a shielded volume is described that is based on the free precession of optically oriented atoms in the transverse magnetic field. The measura ble values of the magnetic field gradient are similar to 10(6)-10-(5) T/m.
