W. Dehandschutter et P. Sas, ACTIVE CONTROL OF STRUCTURE-BORNE ROAD NOISE USING VIBRATION ACTUATORS, Journal of vibration and acoustics, 120(2), 1998, pp. 517-523
Structure-borne road noise is generated by road induced excitation for
ces. The control approach presented here relies on the use of vibratio
n actuators to modify the vibration behavior of the cal body such that
its noise radiation efficiency is decreased (Active Structural Acoust
ic Control-ASAC). The controller is optimized using laboratory experim
ents and numerical tools to simulate the performance a complete vehicl
e control set-rep. Road tests yield a 6.9 dB noise reduction in the fr
equency range 75-105 Hz at the error microphone and 6.1 dB noise reduc
tion at the passenger's ear.
