Sv. Thakare et Bs. Tomar, PRODUCTION OF IN-111 BY LI-7-ANGULAR-CORRELATION APPLICATIONS(NAT AG FOR PERTURBED), Radiochimica Acta, 76(1-2), 1997, pp. 25-28
Excitation functions for evaporation residues from the Li-7 + nat. Ag
reaction have been measured by the recoil catcher and gamma ray spectr
ometry techniques. It was found that the gamma ray spectrum after 24 h
ours consisted of only the 171 and 245 keV gamma lines from In-111, wh
ich is a probe nucleus for perturbed angular correlation studies. This
reaction can therefore be effectively utilized for directly implantin
g In-111 atoms into a matrix of interest. From a silver target of 1 mg
/cm(2) thickness about 30% of the In-111 recoiling atoms were found to
be implanted into the catcher foil at 50 MeV beam energy.
