Abstract
An incoherent quasi-elastic neutron scattering experiment on pure poly mers and on polymeric aqueous solutions is reported. The high resoluti on of the IRIS spectrometer (7 mu eV) allows us to observe the diffusi ve motion of the pure polymer centre of mass, as well as the confined water motion within the polymer chain. The important role of the polym er-water interaction (H-bond) in the characterization of these liquid systems is also studied and analyzed.
