U. Gorl et Kh. Nordsiek, RUBBER FILLER BATCHES IN POWDER FORM - CONTRIBUTION TO THE SIMPLIFIEDPRODUCTION OF RUBBER COMPOUNDS/, Kautschuk und Gummi, Kunststoffe, 51(4), 1998, pp. 250
The development of a continuous rubber compounding process for the pur
pose of saving energy during the production of rubber compounds, is wi
thout doubt a great challenge, but also a chance for the rubber indust
ry in the near future. One of the conditions is to convert the rubber
and filler into such a form that both components lie homogenously dist
ributed in an intimate mix. The manufacture of free flowing rubber/fil
ler batches in powder form is one of the most promising approaches to
the problem. This concept builds on the positive experience gained wit
h these materials in the 70's and 80's, thus bringing them into line w
ith the present requirements of the rubber industry with respect to ch
oice of raw materials, manufacture and mixing technology.
