This paper focuses on the question of the processes which can be rate-
limiting for reactive spreading in the sessile drop configuration. It
will be shown that for a class of systems, spreading kinetics is contr
olled by the transport of species involved in the reaction between the
drop bulk and the triple line. For these systems convection, and espe
cially Marangoni convection, may significantly affect the dynamics of
wetting.
