F. Mohammad, COMPENSATION BEHAVIOR OF ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE POLYTHIOPHENE AND POLYPYRROLE, Journal of physics. D, Applied physics, 31(8), 1998, pp. 951-959
Thin films of p-type doped polythiophene were found to react rapidly b
ut irreversibly with ammonia and water, whereas the loss of conductivi
ty was largely reversible by evacuation in p-type doped polypyrrole. T
he interaction between compensating agents such as ammonia and water w
ith p-type doped polythiophene and polypyrrole has been examined and c
hemical reaction schemes have been proposed with the possibility of th
eir use in sensing devices.
