Np. Poluektov et Np. Efremov, NEW TOMOGRAPHIC APPROACH FOR DECONVOLUTION OF ION VELOCITY AND TEMPERATURE PROFILES IN A PLASMA CENTRIFUGE, Journal of physics. D, Applied physics, 31(8), 1998, pp. 988-995
Tomographic equations for the velocity and temperature of heavy partic
les in plasma have been derived using the relations of the velocity di
stributions with the Doppler shift and broadening of the spectral line
s. These equations are correct far non-Maxwellian velocity distributio
ns and for arbitrary plasma flow. This approach was used for the compu
tation of ion velocity and temperature radial distributions from the s
pectroscopic data in a highly ionized plasma centrifuge. Separation fa
ctors of 15 for Ar-Kr and 22 for Ar-Xe mixtures with a density of 10(-
21) m(-3) are obtained.
