The DC susceptibility under zero-field-cooled and field-cooled conditi
ons, hysteresis loop and isothermal remanent magnetization measurement
s have been carried out on a powdered sample of HgBa2Ca2Cu3O8+delta. T
he temperature and field dependence of the critical current density J(
c) acid the pinning-force density F-p, and the irreversibility field H
-irr(T) were obtained from the hysteresis loops. An exponential-like d
ependence of the critical current on both temperature and applied fiel
d was observed over the temperature range 85-115 K in fields up to 0.6
T. The time-dependent magnetization data were analysed within the And
erson-Kim flux creep model. Derived potential barrier heights were fou
nd to increase with increasing temperature over the range 85-105 K.
