J. Itatani et al., SUPPRESSION OF THE AMPLIFIED SPONTANEOUS EMISSION IN CHIRPED-PULSE-AMPLIFICATION LASERS BY CLEAN HIGH-ENERGY SEED-PULSE INJECTION, Optics communications, 148(1-3), 1998, pp. 70-74
We have suppressed the amplified spontaneous emission in a femtosecond
terawatt Ti:sapphire chirped-pulse-amplification (CPA) laser by injec
ting clean microjoule seed pulses into thr regenerative amplifier. The
intensity contrast ratio, which is one of the major difficulties in C
PA lasers, was improved from similar to 10(5) in the original nanojoul
e injection case to similar to 10(7) in the nanosecond scale. (C) 1998
