Abstract
Disbonded coatings over pipeline steel can often lead to serious corro sion problems that cannot be controlled by conventional cathodic prote ction (CP) systems. CP effective ness is limited by the high resistanc e electrical path in the crevice between the steel and coating. Polari zation experiments were conducted using conventional and pulsed CP. Ce rtain pulsed waveforms increased the distance achieving protective pot entials in a crevice.
