G. Krost et al., AUTONOMOUS EXPERT-SYSTEM OPERATION IN ELECTRIC ENERGY-SYSTEMS, Engineering intelligent systems for electrical engineering and communications, 6(1), 1998, pp. 19-27
Contrary to other domains, in electric power system control and manage
ment expert systems are usually limited to provide for proposals or su
ggestions, the execution of which remains to the human operator. On th
e other hand, expert systems have proven as efficient and power fill c
ounselors especially in abnormal situations and under time pressure. T
heir ability to autonomously perform switching and setting is demonstr
ated for the three examples of a solar power system energy management,
of power system restoration and of comprehensive switching.
