M. Lazzari et al., INFORMATION-SYSTEMS FOR DAM SAFETY - EVOLUTION THROUGH CI, Engineering intelligent systems for electrical engineering and communications, 6(1), 1998, pp. 29-37
The paper describes the results of a project which aims at improving t
he capabilities of ait information system that supports the management
of dam safety. The improvement has been achieved through additional c
omponents developed using artificial intelligence concepts and technol
ogies. We describe the pre-existing information system, identify users
' requirements driving the evolution of the information system and exp
lain how AI concepts and technologies may contribute. We describe the
functions, the architecture and the Al features of two systems (MISTRA
L and DAMSAFE) added to the information system. Finally we give some i
nformation about the users' acceptance.
