Primary adrenal lymphoma with latent adrenal insufficiency : a case re
port and review of the literature. We report a new case of primary adr
enal lymphoma with latent adrenal insufficiency and long-term remissio
n after hydrocortisone replacement therapy. We have analyzed 29 other
cases described in the literature. This disease with poor prognosis ca
n be revealed by an incidentally discovered, frequently bilateral, adr
enal mass. Adrenal insufficiency may be latent and the diagnostic proc
edure should include both cortisol and ACTH determination with an addi
tional ACTH stimulation test if appropriate. Early adrenal substitutio
n can improve patient survival.
