Abstract
The synthesis of the first representative compound of 7-aryl anthracyc line analogues, is described. 1-Alkyl-3-trialkylsiloxydienes, prepared from readily available materials, are transformed through a Diels-Ald er cycloaddition into a tetracyclic ketone, that is converted into )-7 -(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-7-deoxyidarubicinone.
