Abstract
The aim of the paper is to put forward the idea of speckle shearing ph otography. The method provides a precise measurement of the in-plane s trains and in-plane shear strains. The method is discussed from a theo retical point of view. Configurations for implementing the method are described and experimental results are presented to show the feasibili ty of the method.
