Energy storage using superconducting: coils involves the problem of el
ectromagnetic field pollution outside the considered system. Different
configurations are widely studied: the torus, the alone solenoid and
multiple parallel solenoids enclosed in one container. A new configura
tion which minimizes the external pollution is studied in this paper.
The theoretical system is composed of two spherical distributions of t
he current which are concentric. The analytical study uses solution of
Laplace equations. Parametric study covers energy, flux density and g
eometrical data. The second study concerns the numerical approach of t
his design using coaxial solenoids. A comparison between this new syst
em and the known systems is presented as a conclusion.
