Abstract
Relativistic calculations are made for photoionization of the ground s tate of neonlike Fe XVII, using the Breit-Pauli Hamiltonian within the R-matrix method. Relativistic effects are clearly revealed by compari ng the results with those obtained in the nonrelativistic LS coupling approximation.
