MIXING ELEMENTS WITH NEW GEOMETRIES

Advances in the design of tightly intermeshing co-rotating twin-screw extruders have resulted in greater demands on the performance of screw elements. When analyzing special designs for kneading elements and mu lti-tooth mixing elements, the pressure and temperature behaviours spe cifically were investigated in detail. The change in rheological prope rties as a consequence of the load placed on the material during proce ssing is taken into consideration in the analysis of these special and mixing elements.
