Abstract
This paper investigates the reasons why the weak-beam contrast of disl ocations is largely insensitive to elastic anisotropy. Particular atte ntion is paid to the applicability of the g.b = 0 invisibility criteri on for Burgers vector determination to crystals with large elastic ani sotropy factors. For this purpose, a method has been designed to allow for a direct comparison between weak-beam images simulated under diff erent g.b imaging conditions.
