J. Douin et al., COMPARISON BETWEEN SIMULATED WEAK-BEAM IMAGES - APPLICATION TO THE EXTINCTION CRITERION IN ELASTICALLY ANISOTROPIC CRYSTALS, Philosophical magazine. A. Physics of condensed matter. Structure, defects and mechanical properties, 77(5), 1998, pp. 1323-1340
This paper investigates the reasons why the weak-beam contrast of disl
ocations is largely insensitive to elastic anisotropy. Particular atte
ntion is paid to the applicability of the g.b = 0 invisibility criteri
on for Burgers vector determination to crystals with large elastic ani
sotropy factors. For this purpose, a method has been designed to allow
for a direct comparison between weak-beam images simulated under diff
erent g.b imaging conditions.
