Electrocrystallization of C-60 in chlorobenzene and lithium tetrapheny
lborate in THF efficiently produced the new metallic species LixC60(TH
F)(y); the ESR spectra show clearly the existence of a typical broad s
ignal due to the C-60 anion radical. The change of the intensity of th
e ESR signal corresponds to the metal-insulator transition at 150 K, a
nd the C-13 and Li-7 solid-state NMR spectra are also reported. (C) 19
