Abstract
Groups of genes sharing similar motifs may be used at different steps of a same developmental process. In this review, we discuss the signif icance of this phenomenon in the case of the basic Helix-Loop-Helix (b HLH) proteins that are involved at different steps of the development of the peripheral nervous system (PNS) of Drosophila.
