Abstract
A culture of transformed roots of Rhaponticum carthamoides (Willd.) Il jin was initiated by transformation of plant axenic seedlings with Agr obacterium rhizogenes A4abc. The line of hairy roots obtained and the rhizomes of intact plants differed in ecdysteroid concentration and co mposition.
