Erl. Cardoso et al., A RECESSIVELY INHERITED NONLETHAL FORM OF POPLITEAL PTERYGIUM SYNDROME, British journal of oral & maxillofacial surgery, 36(2), 1998, pp. 138-140
Two siblings, a 10-year-old boy and a 6-month-old girl, born in a Pale
stinian family, with manifestations of popliteal pterygium syndrome ar
e presented. This rare form of syndrome is usually assumed to be autos
omal dominant. Parental consanguinity and lack of phenotype manifestat
ion in the ancestry of the present family favoured an interpretation o
f determination by an autosomal recessive trait.
