Abstract
This paper reports on results of an experimental investigation of cool ed jets discharged into heated cross-flowing ambients in a water chann el. Results pertaining to the jet and wake thermal fields are presente d in terms of mean and root-mean-square temperature fluctuations profi les. Comparisons are made whenever possible with similar results for h eated jets discharged into cooled cross-flowing ambients, and conclusi ons regarding the general nature of the flow are presented.
