Abstract
The phase diagram of the EuI2-KI binary system was studied by differen tial thermal analysis (DTA) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), The ph ase diagram of the EuI2-KI system shows the existence of one congruent ly melting compound, KEu2I5, and one incongruently melting compound, K 4EuI6. There are two eutectic points located at 465 degrees C, 20 mol% KI and 439 degrees C, 60 mol% KI, respectively. (C) 1998 Academic Pre ss.
