PERMANENTS OF ADJACENCY MATRICES AND THEIR DEPENDENCE ON MOLECULAR-STRUCTURE

In a recent work [Cash, G. G. (1997). Polycyclic Aromatic Compounds, 1 2, 61] the question was raised how the permanent of the adjacency matr ix of a molecular graph depends on molecular structure, and, in partic ular, on the Kekule structure count. Here we clarify this point, to wh ich the basic answer is known since 1972.
