Abstract
The electrodynamic properties of the long Josephson junction for the c ase of two-phase wave train are investigated by means of asymptotic so lutions of the perturbed ''sine-Gordon'' equation in the form of the W hitham equations describing the modulation of its period matrix within the power balance approximation. The corresponding current-voltage ch aracteristic is calculated in terms of Riemann theta-functions and ana lyzed numerically for the zero magnetic field. The resonance peaks of the characteristic are shown to correspond to the reduction condition for the period matrix. Copyright (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
