Abstract
Most analytical methods for oxysterols identification and quantificati on use GC, These methods are very useful, in particular when GC is cou pled with MS, Some difficulties however remain concerning derivatizati on and possible artefact formation. HPLC-MS appears as the method of f uture, HPLC with light scattering detector could also be very useful i n detecting sterol hydroperoxides and preventing artefact formation.
