Abstract
Scanning force microscopy in tapping mode is used for imaging low-visc osity liquid structures. Droplets on a substrate the wettability of wh ich had been artificially structured in the submicron range are invest igated. From the observed distortions of the contact line, we obtain c ontact line tensions in the theoretically expected range.
