The dynamics of electrical explosion of tungsten wires under water in
microsecond times was studied. A new optical method for temperature me
asurement has been developed. For tungsten, uniform heating took place
at 10(11) < j (A.m(-2)) < 10(12), therefore one can use these regimes
for the investigation of properies in the liquid phase. Temperature d
ependences of enthalpy, electrical resistivity, and specific heat for
liquid tungsten are given and compared with literature values.
