Abstract
Acute adrenal insufficiency can be associated with conditions such as septicemia and enteritis in neonatal foals. A persistently low (< 27) sodium-to-potassium ratio in serum, which is sometimes associated with CNS malfunction, should warrant further investigation of adrenal glan d function.
