Abstract
We classified 33 patients with a first anterior infarction and single- vessel disease who had undergone successful primary angioplasty and ha d a patent infarct-related artery into groups based on the development of late potentials. Left ventricular function improved between 1 and 3 months after angioplasty only in patients without late potentials; t he development of late potentials after acute anterior infarction was associated with prolonged left ventricular dysfunction despite success ful revascularization with primary angioplasty.
