An experimental investigation of the combustion of various kerosene-di
esel and alcohol-diesel fuel blends is presented. Tests are conducted
in a continuous flow combustor to study the effect of fuel blends on t
he combustion process and pollutants in the exhaust gases. Exhaust ana
lyses of CO, CO2, O-2, NOx, HC and soot mass concentration are present
ed. For the ethanol-alcohol-diesel blends, a stabilizer (isobutanol) i
s added to the mixture to improve and maintain miscibility. (C) 1998 E
