Abstract
For the synthesis of 2,2',6,6'-tetramethylbiphenyl-4,4'-dibenzthiazole 2, first 2,2',6,6'-tetramethylbiphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid 1 was s ynthesized by the selective oxidation reaction of bimesityl. 2 was pre pared by reaction of 1 with 2-aminothiophenol.
