The authors describe a series of 22 patients with dementia and behavio
ral disturbances, including agitation, aggression, delusions, and hall
ucinations, who were treated with risperidone. Risperidone, in low dos
es, was well tolerated; 50% of patients experienced significant improv
ement, although 50% experienced some extrapyramidal symptoms.
