Abstract
Computer simulation of the magnetohydrodynamic dynamo in a rotating sp herical shell geometry is performed. The convection velocity and the m agnetic field structures are investigated in detail when the magnetic field is exponentially growing. It is found that the magnetic energy i s strongly localized in space. The energy is generated when toroidal f ield Lines are stretched by the fluid flows in columnar convection cel ls.
