Abstract
Attempts to deprotonate co-ordinated phenylhydrazine in trans-[Rh(CO)( NH(2)NHPh)(PPh(3))(2)]ClO4, using 1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4.0]undec-7-ene ( dbu), resulted in the displacement of the co-ordinated hydrazine to gi ve trans-[Rh(CO)(dbu)(PPh(3))(2)]CIO4 which has been fully characteris ed by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. Other r hodium (I) complexes containing dbu have also been prepared and charac terised spectroscopically.
