when an agreed core curriculum was presented at a consensus conferenc
e, All aspects of curriculum development and education delivery were r
eviewed during this four year period, Results: Core topics were identi
fied, educational entry standards described and a duration of three ye

lusions: The core curriculum describes the standard necessary to be ac
hieved for entry into the profession to ensure the optimum treatment i
s offered to all patients throughout the European Union, Regular revie
w of the core curriculum should be carried out to ensure the defined s
tandards are maintained. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd.
