H. Alahmad et K. Ahmed, A NOVEL TECHNIQUE FOR INITIALIZING DIGITAL IIR FILTERS WITH A FINITE NUMBER OF SAMPLES AT A SINGLE-FREQUENCY, IEEE transactions on circuits and systems. 2, Analog and digital signal processing, 44(5), 1997, pp. 417-420
This brief deals with a new initialization technique for digital IIR f
ilters. The technique is suitable for IIR filters processing a finite
number of samples in phased array radars. The initialization processor
is complex one and utilized the first received sample to force the fi
lter to reach its steady-state value at a single frequency irrespectiv
e of the number of processed samples, This is done by initially loadin
g the internal memories of the filter with their steady-state values.
If the filter has a zero steady-state response at that particular freq
uency then this will ensure that the transient frequency responses of
the filter will also have a zero response at that frequency, Different
processors are derived for filters with real and complex coefficients
