Abstract
Heyman proposes that external stimuli can promote a switch from a loca l to a global frame of reference for evaluating the consequences of be havior and that such a change might be critical to breaking the grip o f drug addiction. Could incentive stimuli promote a switch in the oppo site direction and thus contribute to relapse in the recovered addict?
