Abstract
Low-coherence reflectometer employing multiple passages of 1.3-mu m lo w-coherence probe light within the gain medium was used to study the t hermal properties of diode-laser-pumped high-power Nd:YVO4 laser and i ts intracavity frequency doubled version. The longitudinal optical len gth resolution is 0.5 mu m. An IR slope efficiency as high as 68% is a chieved as a result.
