Abstract
The present work shows a study concerning the contamination phenomena of underground waters in the center-southern Apulia. The attention was focused both on the chemical characterization of waters and on the in terpretation of the results obtained through the statistical analylis. For a better interpretation of data, the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was used: this statistical analylis allows to study the structu re of data, classify and correlate them, and represent changes in the chemical characteristics of waters depending on the hydrogeological an d anthropic conditions.
